I Like Allie has teamed up with Paper+Plastick (US), Engineer Records (UK), No Reason Records (Europe), and General Soreness Records (Europe) to release it first full-length, "Rare Instances of Independent Thinking" on October 8, 2021 on vinyl and all digital platforms.

I Like Allie started out initially as Renato’s acoustic project becoming in 2014, with the arrival of Gio (drums), Fra (bass) and Luca (lead guitar), a full band. Since then, the band released the EP, "The Wounds You Leave", with Paper+Plastick as well as a self-titled collection of all their released output on cassette via UK label Real Ghost Records. I Like Allie has played many shows, including a US East Coast tour down to The Fest, Hamburg’s Booze Cruise Festival and Bergamo’s Punk Rock Raduno.

The band’s sound is melodic punk rock, some might also say emo, but with a very personal style deriving from the band’s different musical tastes and the stories found in Renato's lyrics that on this new release address issues such as peer pressure, social anxiety, and learning to let go of useless negativity. Musically, the record explores new avenues by trying to be more original and innovative while keeping the songwriting and the sound still spontaneous and honest.

For Rare Instances of Independent Thinking, the band entered Mobsound Recording Studios in Milan at the end of 2019 with long-time engineer and friend Alessandro Caneva (Fine Before You Came, Fratelli Calafuria) but recording proceeded over the course of 2020 with a few interruptions due to the Covid-19 Global Pandemic. The record was completed with mixing by Jeff Dean (Samiam, Braid) and mastering by Dan Coutant (The World Is a Beautiful Place, War on Women) and features guest vocals of singer-songwriter Laura Stevenson.

Il primo full length degli I Like Allie, "Rare Instances of Independent Thinking", uscirà il prossimo 8 ottobre 2021 in collaborazione con Paper+Plastick (Stati Uniti), Engineer Records (Regno Unito), No Reason Records (Europa) e General Soreness Records (Europa) in vinile e su tutte le piattaforme digitali.

Inizialmente I Like Allie era il progetto solista di Renato, che nel 2014 si è trasformato in una band elettrica con l'arrivo di Gio (batteria), Fra (basso) e Luca (chitarra solista). Da allora, la band ha pubblicato l'EP "The Wounds You Leave" con Paper+Plastick e poi il suo self-titled, una collezione su cassetta di tutto il materiale registrato, con l'etichetta inglese Real Ghost Records. Gli I Like Allie hanno suonato moltissimi live sia in Europa che negli Stati Uniti: hanno fatto un tour della East Coast per concludere al The Fest, in Florida, e hanno partecipato tra gli altri al Booze Cruise Festival di Amburgo (Germania) e al Punk Rock Raduno di Bergamo.

Il suono della band è un punk rock molto melodico, che alcuni potrebbero definire emo. Lo stile però è molto personale e deriva sia dalle diverse influenze musicali della band, sia dalle storie raccontate nei testi di Renato, che in questo nuovo album parla per esempio di peer pressure, di ansia sociale, e di come imparare a liberarsi delle negatività che sono soltanto nocive. Musicalmente, il disco esplora nuove strade cercando di essere ancora più originale e innovativo, mantenendo allo stesso tempo un songwriting spontaneo e onesto.

La band ha iniziato a registrare "Rare Instances of Independent Thinking" alla fine del 2019 con Alessandro Caneva (Fine Before You Came, Fratelli Calafuria) allo studio Mobsound di Milano, e le registrazioni sono andate avanti nel 2020 con qualche interruzione per via della pandemia da COVID-19. Il disco è stato poi mixato da Jeff Dean (Samiam, Braid) e masterizzato da Dan Coutant (The World Is a Beautiful Place, War on Women), ed è arricchito anche da una special guest, la cantautrice statunitense Laura Stevenson.
